Kidney Camp at Frost Valley YMCA
Kidney Camp at Frost Valley YMCA, a pioneering program, offers a unique and supportive environment for children with kidney disease. This camp, a collaboration between Frost Valley YMCA, the Ruth Gottscho Kidney Foundation, and the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, was the first in the nation to integrate children with kidney disease into a traditional sleepaway camp setting. Over the course of 12 days, campers aged 8 to 17 engage in activities that promote independence, confidence, and resilience. Participants are grouped with peers of similar ages in village-like settings, where they can share their experiences and challenges with one another.
