Camp Homeward Bound for Homeless Children
Camp Homeward Bound, initiated by the Coalition for the Homeless, is a pioneering summer sleep-away camp uniquely designed for homeless children. It offers three 16-day sessions each summer to kids aged 7-15, with an option for older children to return as Counselors-in-Training. The camp provides a variety of activities like swimming, sports, arts, and more, aimed at helping these children grow, learn, and enjoy being kids again. The camp's staff, hailing from across the globe, undergo intensive training to ensure they can effectively meet the campers' needs and act as mentors. This program serves as a haven, allowing these children to escape the challenges of homelessness and enjoy a nurturing and fun environment.
