Bronx Works Summer Camps

The BronxWorks Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) offers a dynamic experience for young people aged 14 to 24 in New York City. This program is structured around three main initiatives: school-based recruitment in partnership with Bronx high schools, targeted enrollment for Bronx River New York City Housing Authority residents, and an open lottery for public applicants. Younger participants, aged 14 to 15, engage in project-based learning supervised by activity specialists, focusing on various topics like technology and nutrition, and receive a stipend for their work. Older participants, aged 16 to 24, gain real-world job experience at diverse worksites, including retailers and local businesses, and are paid for their work. The SYEP aims to impart essential job readiness skills to the youth, preparing them for future employment opportunities.
