4-H Wagon Train
The 4-H Wagon Train offers a unique summer adventure that blends historical education with leadership development in an outdoor setting. It's an opportunity for youth and families to experience the pioneer life by participating in wagon treks along Oregon's scenic trails. The program, exclusive to Washington County 4-H, has been ongoing since 1982. Participants range from 9 to 99 years old and include both new and long-term dedicated families. The journey involves walking, riding, and managing wagons, fostering a cooperative and respectful community spirit. In camp, everyone shares meals, enjoys campfire songs, and forms lasting friendships. The program emphasizes personal growth, problem-solving, and a commitment to the natural world, making it a one-of-a-kind experience.
