4-H Skelton Camp

The 4-H Skelton Camp offers a dynamic and immersive summer camp experience. This residential program typically spans one week and has been a destination for over 171,000 young people from central, western, and southwestern Virginia over the past 50 years. In addition to the summer program, the camp provides opportunities for junior campers (ages 9-13) through various specialty camps held throughout the year. The Skelton 4-H Center emphasizes learning through active participation, fostering personal growth, teamwork, and an appreciation for the natural world. Teen counselors and adult volunteers play a crucial role in the camp, receiving comprehensive training and working alongside professional staff to ensure a supportive and enjoyable experience for the campers. The camp also features a Staff-In-Training (SIT) program for teens aspiring to join the camp staff, offering hands-on experience in camp operations and mentorship.
